What's new for Model Manager version 12.0

This version of Model Manager includes the following key features:

Consistency and communication improvements between Model Manager and OneSpace Designer

Part attributes are now passed between Model Manager and OneSpace Designer. This gives you the ability to view database information from within OneSpace Designer, and you can edit BOM information for parts.

When you start Model Manager, the DB Attributes tab becomes available in the structure browser panel (1). Double-click Bill-of-Material to set BOM properties (2) on individual parts of your assemblies.

Consistency between names in OneSpace Designer and Model Manager has also been improved. The Contents ID in OneSpace Designer and Model Manager is now called the Model Name (3). The Instance Name is displayed in the tree view in Model Manager (4), and the Contents ID column is now the Name column in the Workspace window.

Version control enhancements

You can now save minor revisions, and select a major revision type when you save a model or drawing for the first time.

New Model Manager toolbar

Model Manager now has a special toolbar to compliment OneSpace Designer's new look! The toolbar can be docked with other OneSpace Designer toolbars, or it can open as a separate window.

Snapshots save the way you have models and assemblies loaded, so you can

Snapshots are listed in your Workspace window. To load a snapshot, you can double-click or use the menu:

Models copied in OneSpace Designer are linked to supporting documents

In the past, when you copied a part in OneSpace Designer, and saved it in Model Manager, the new model was not linked to any existing items. Now the new model is linked to any supporting documents that the original model is linked to. If a drawing was saved for the original, a new drawing is created and saved for the copy.

New delete functionality

You can now delete items from Model Manager. and the relationships stored in Model Manager will be updated to reflect your current data.

Ability to edit saved searches

You can now edit your saved search definitions, making it simple to refine your saved searches as your database grows.

Use Save As to create a new search based on an earlier saved search without retyping your search criteria!

Oracle 9i support

As Oracle moves forward with its database technology and support, Model Manager development has moved from Oracle 8i to Oracle 9i on all platforms.
