OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004 offers a host of new features to existing functionality. This What's New page summarizes the main features of this release. To find out more specific information, click the links below.
In the past, Drafting could not produce PDF documents. OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004 now lets you create a PDF document from drawings.
To create a PDF from a drawing, click File > Print, and change the Printer name to PDF_GENERIC, as shown below.

To complete the PDF file transfer, click OK and perform normal save operations in the Print to File dialog.
In the past, the DXF/DWG translator would skip the geometry from the paperspace. Since the paperspace is used in AutoCAD to handle the frame, information such as titleblock and scaling was currently lost after the translation to Model Interface (MI).
Now, OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004 lets you reuse all data saved in the paperspace. Because information in paperspace may conflict with data in modelspace, a switch has been created in the DXFDWG.con file that decides which part of the conflicting information should be used for translation into MI.
The settings for Paperspace can be switched ON and OFF from the DXFDWG.con file depending on the information saved in the DXF or DWG file. Locate the file by the following path:
[your CoCreate path]\CoCreate\OSD_Drafting_12.00\dxfdwg\DXFDWG.con.

Note More Paperspace layouts are possible with AutoCAD 2000. The LayoutName switch specifies the name of the layout to be translated. This works only for AutoCAD 2000 DXF/DWG files. An empty switch means that the default layout is translated.
In the past, screen outputs were offered with screen viewport resolutions only. Since details of an A0/E -sized drawing were not displayed clearly when the whole drawing was shown, a regular screen output did not seem practical.
Now, with OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004, resolution outputs can be produced in a high pixel format. A new option, RESOLUTION, is used in order to define the right pixel resolution to display all details of a drawing.
For more information on how to export images in high resolution, please see in the online help, Storing, Loading, and Filing > Exporting a Bitmap (Pixmap) File.
Select File > Export > Bitmap to File to access new export formats for OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004.

Enter the command PORT in the right-hand command box.
Enter one of the commands from the left-hand side. If you enter a point on the drawing, the command below will display.
RESOLUTION and an adequate value surrounded by quotes.
The following are choices that are available from the RESOLUTION command. The command PAPER_TO_PIXELS calculates the output resolution from given standard paper format and DPI resolution.
Finally, enter the directory path and name of the file where you will store your information. Enter this text surrounded by quotes.
In the past, all sheets from an Annotation drawing were plotted to one page. Now, you can print each drawing on a separate page.
When an Annotation drawing loads, OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004 enables the "All Sheets" checkbox.
To use the Multi-Page Plot, select the file to where you will print. The new file should have the same number of pages as what was originally loaded in OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004.
Sometimes when large images load, some lines are not visible. Improve the quality of your image with pixmap aliasing, a new feature of OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004. With Pixmap Aliasing, you can make the line more visible and sharpen the quality of the image.
From the command box, enter EDIT_PIXMAP. Then enter SHOW_QUALITY and select the drawing you would like to alter.

SHOW_QUALITY ranges from -2 to 2.
In OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004, a new function has been implemented that allows easier use of colors. The CHANGE_TRANSPARENCY_COLOR command makes pixmaps transparent.
Enter CHANGE_TRANSPARENCY_COLOR in the command box, select the pixmap and enter the color you wish to make transparent.

In the past, you could not preview your drawing before printing. Now, with OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004, a new option in the File > Print dialog lets you preview your drawings.

You can print preview in color, black and white, or grayscale by scrolling through the drop-down menu.

To support print preview in UNIX, two new buttons have been added to the PLOT menu. The PREVIEW button changes the print preview color to Original, Grayscale, or B&W.

To preview prints in UNIX, click the PREVIEW button, and the preview window will open. Click the PREVIEW button again to close the preview window.
Before OneSpace Designer Drafting 2004, integrating drawings into XML documents was not possible. Now you can share your drawings on the Internet by exporting them to SVG (version 1.0) format which is based on XML.
To store data as XML, select File > Save As and change the file filter to "Scalable Vector Graphics (*.svg)" and click Save.
