The evolution of the CoCreate Product Line: CoCreate continued…

Over the past few weeks, you’ve probably heard talk about CoCreate and its integration within the PTC organization.

At the recent PTC Media and Analyst Day (featured in CoCreate News Edition 1, 2008), PTC executives Jim Heppelmann and Uli Mahle reassured attendees that PTC will maintain the CoCreate Product family as a standalone product line.

The new owners never intended to shrink the CoCreate product line or erase the CoCreate name from the market. Instead, PTC believes CoCreate and its explicit modeling approach to design is paramount to the success of companies that specialize in one-off design, exploratory design, and ad hoc design collaboration. CoCreate continues to stand for speed, flexibility, adaptability, and straightforward design.

The continuation of the CoCreate name within the product structure is clear evidence that PTC wants to enrich its portfolio with the CoCreate product offering. To ensure consistency, new naming conventions will be introduced over time, with many coinciding with the introduction of the CoCreate 2008 release.

Here’s a sneak preview of the new names for familiar products in the CoCreate product family:

  • CoCreate Modeling Personal Edition (Free 3D CAD)

  • CoCreate Modeling (3D CAD) with the various add-on CoCreate licensed modules, e.g., CoCreate Cabling or CoCreate Sheet Metal.

  • CoCreate 3D Access

  • CoCreate Model Manager with the various add-on CoCreate licensed modules, e.g., CoCreate BOM Editor or CoCreate Task Agent.

  • CoCreate Drafting (2D CAD) with CoCreate 2D Library and CoCreate 2D Access.

  • CoCreate Drawing Manager

  • CoCreate OneSpace Live!
